The top voted artists from the 2010 showcase who will be invited to the 2011 MOST WANTED SONG SWAP on our mainstage are:
- Chris O'Brien - garnering votes from 23% of the voting audience
- Spuyten Duyvil - second with 21%

All five will be invited to FR 2011 and we will figure out the unusual programming for this unprecedented three way tie. Honorable mentions to Tripping Lily and Mike Miz who finished next followed by Caleb Hawley, all of whom had 10-15% of the voting audience.

Much thanks to Jim, Heidi and Emily at Sonicbids as well and Donna Grande, tech coordinator AND mainstage manager extraordinaire.
Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Booking/Showcasing Guidelines
FRFF begins booking every year by NOVEMBER. The fest is held on the 4th weekend in July. 2011 dates are July 22-24. Artists submit electronically thru Sonicbids for both FEATURE and/or EMERGING ARTIST SHOWCASE consideration. The submission deadline for features this year is February 10. Showcase deadline is May 1. Check the Sonicbids website for updates or extensions.
FRFF has 4 stages. DANCE is booked first, MAINSTAGE next, FAMILY last. The WORKSHOP stage features different combinations of performers booked on the other 3 stages sharing sets on a variety of topics. Some performers are booked specifically for one stage but most appear on more than one.
All feature subs are logged into an online database. Automatic Email receipts are sent. All are reviewed and comments recorded. Please DO NOT SEND unsolicited materials by mail. We are no longer able to accept mail-ins. The fest will contact you if we have a spot or need additional materials.
HOW DO WE DECIDE WHOM TO BOOK? The Artistic Director makes all programming decisions but before doing so, our audience surveys are carefully tabulated. A great deal is decided by OUR AUDIENCE including specific artists and types of music to include. Other performers including World, Bluegrass, Cajun, Blues are chosen by the AD. Sources include radio, other venues & our own meanderings around the folk world. New performers our audience has never heard are sought out every year.
FOR FEATURE CONSIDERATION - Follow instructions at www.sonicbids.com/FalconRidgeFeaturedPerformers
The FALCON RIDGE/GRASSY HILL EMERGING ARTIST SHOWCASE is open to all performers who have NOT showcased or appeared as part of a feature act at the fest in the last 2 years and who will not be appearing in any other capacity in the current year. This is a 2 song or 10 minute spot on our Mainstage on Friday afternoon. Artists new to the Northeast, not nationally touring or those with limited exposure are encouraged to apply. See details and apply online beginning Feb 12 at www.sonicbids.com/FalconRidgeEmergingArtists
